This cookie statement explains which cookies nanikasbeauty.com uses, what we use them for and how you stay in control. In short: we place only our own functional cookies, which the online shop needs to work properly and securely. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

What are cookies?

This is how an online shop remembers, for example, what is in your basket and that you are signed in. Which cookies do we use?

We use only functional cookies. They are placed by our own website (first-party cookies) and are needed for you to shop, sign in and check out securely.

• Session cookie – recognises your browser as you move through the shop, so that your basket, your sign-in status and your progress at checkout are retained. Expires after 2 hours of inactivity.
• Security cookie (XSRF token) – protects forms, such as those for your order, your account and your reviews, against misuse by other websites (cross-site request forgery). Expires after 2 hours of inactivity.
• ‘Remember me’ cookie – placed only if you tick ‘Remember me’ when signing in, so that you stay signed in on your next visit. Deleted when you sign out; otherwise kept for up to 400 days.
• Cookie bar choice – remembers that you have closed the cookie bar, so that it does not reappear on every page. Kept for 400 days unless you delete it sooner.
• Newsletter pop-up preference – remembers that you have closed the newsletter pop-up, so that it does not keep reappearing. This is stored in your browser’s local storage until you clear your browsing data. If you indicate that you do not want to see the pop-up again, we also place a cookie that is kept for 400 days.

We do not use these cookies to build a profile of you, and we do not share the data with advertisers. Because they are strictly necessary for the online shop to function, or are placed at your request, Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act (Telecommunicatiewet) allows us to place them without asking for your prior consent.

No analytics, advertising or tracking cookies

We do not place analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use advertising or social media pixels. We do not track your browsing behaviour for statistics or advertising, whether on our website or elsewhere.

If we decide in the future to use cookies that require consent, such as analytics or marketing cookies, we will first update this cookie statement. We will place those cookies only after you have given your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time, as easily as you gave it.

Third-party services that do not place cookies for us

Some parts of our website are loaded from other providers’ servers. To load them, your browser connects directly to those servers:

• Google Fonts – the typefaces on our website are loaded from Google’s servers on every page.
• Cloudflare (cdnjs) – an icon stylesheet is loaded on every page via cdnjs, a service provided by Cloudflare.
• Google Maps Places (address suggestions) – at checkout and in your account’s address book, Google Maps Places suggests matching addresses. What you type in the address field is sent to Google for this purpose.

These services do not place cookies for us. However, because your browser connects to their servers, these providers do receive technical data, such as your IP address, and they may process that data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Our privacy policy explains how we handle this and which safeguards apply.

Third-party cookies when paying and signing in with Google

When you pay for an order or choose to sign in with Google, you use a service provided by another company, which may place its own cookies:

• Mollie – you pay via Mollie with iDEAL, credit card or another payment method. At checkout, you are redirected to Mollie’s secure payment environment and, for iDEAL, to your bank’s. Mollie and your bank may place cookies there, for example to process the payment securely and prevent fraud.
• Google – if you choose to sign in with Google, you are redirected to Google’s sign-in page. Google may place or read cookies there to sign you in and keep your account secure. If you sign in with your email address and password, Google is not involved.

We have no control over these cookies; they are governed by the cookie and privacy policies of Mollie, your bank and Google. The same applies to any other website you visit via a link on our website.

Managing, deleting or blocking cookies

You decide which cookies your browser accepts. In your browser settings, for example in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge, you can view, delete and block cookies.
